Tuesday, 9 February 2010: Wet weather in Sydney continues to throw the autumn campaign of Court into disarray with a fresh-up run in Melbourne now a possibility.
Trainer Clarry Conners had the mare ready for last weekend’s Expressway Stakes but saved her from mission impossible on soft ground.
But continued wet weather, which has played havoc with this week’s barrier trials, may throw a spanner in the works of the mare’s campaign if she misses another run in either of Saturday’s Breeders Classic or Southern Cross Stakes at Randwick.
Conners is hoping for a clear few days to get a run under the belt of or he will be forced to make a decision to skip a Sydney run altogether and go fresh-up from a let-up in the Oakleigh Plate on February 20.
She is being aimed at the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap on March 6 at Flemington.
The lightly-raced mare has won five of 16 starts including three stakes success, the latest at her final run before a let-up in the Carrington Stakes.
