Tommy Berry has made a winning return to Australian racing with victory aboard Stylish Lad at Hawkesbury on Sunday.
The 22-year-old forfeited his chance to win the Sydney premiership when he took up a short-term contract in Hong Kong at the end of April.
His return to racing was delayed by a careless riding suspension during which he took time out for a skiing holiday before kicking off again at Hawkesbury.
It took until the final race for Berry to get his name on the board when he guided the Clarry Conners-trained Stylish Lad to a three-quarter length win over Bless This Day.
"It's great to be back in Australia riding," Berry told Sky Racing.
"And it's good to get a win for Mr Conners. He has always been a great supporter of mine from early on."
